On October 3rd, 2024 SMH augmented its fleet dedicated to the secure transportation of petroleum products, with the addition of three new tanker trucks. Each truck has a capacity of 50 cubic meters (m³), or 50,000 liters. These tankers are now actively transporting aircraft fuel (JET) to the SMH depot at the airport.
The vehicles employed are robust tractors, equipped with powerful 430 horsepower engines and a 6×4 drivetrain configuration. The 6×4 designation indicates that four of the six wheels are driven, providing these units with significant traction capabilities, particularly on uneven terrains. These technical characteristics render them highly effective tools for demanding operations, while ensuring secure transport in accordance with stringent safety regulations.
Moreover, each truck is fitted with a GPS tracking system, facilitating real-time monitoring of routes to ensure the safety and efficacy of deliveries.
