The Chinguetti oil field started producing in 2006 and was shutdown in December 2017. Its abandonment plan was implemented in three phases:
The first phase completed in 2018 consisted of the cleaning, disconnection and demobilization of FPSO Berge Helena, the cleaning and removal of flowlines and the suspension of the 15 oil producers and water/gas injector wells.
The second phase was the definite abandonment of these 15 wells and took place between 2020 and 2021.
The operations of these phases have been monitored and certified by Lloyd’s Register in accordance with the NORSOK D-010 standard.
A third phase is being completed. It consists of the abandonment of Subsea equipment. Its final stages should be over by the end of 2022.
