SMH – Mauritania’s National Oil Company, participated in ADIPEC 2024, held from November 4 to 7 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Led by its General Director, Ismail Abdel Vetah, a delegation from SMH, including technical experts from the Exploration and Projects departments, actively took part in this globally renowned event. This presence highlighted SMH’s commitment to showcasing Mauritania’s exceptional energy potential while strengthening its visibility among leading players in the energy industry
ADIPEC convenes oil, gas, and energy companies and professionals to discuss and discover prospects and opportunities that will unlock new value in an evolving energy landscape. Hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), buyers and sellers meet, learn, and network during to develop business and discover new products, solutions and technologies. More than 2,200 exhibiting companies and numerous country pavilions participate and attend the many conferences and discussions held as part of the event.
Several hundred ministers, CEOs, policy makers and influencers debate and share their knowledge on products and solutions that will enhance performance, increase efficiencies and help optimise costs.
For SMH, ADIPEC served as a strategic platform to establish key connections with potential partners, including leading energy companies from the Middle East and Asia. These engagements provided an opportunity to present the extensive potential of Mauritania’s sedimentary basins and explore collaboration prospects in hydrocarbon exploration and production
Mauritania’s coastal basin stands out as a critical region for oil and gas exploration, with major discoveries such as the GTA, BirAllah, and Banda fields. In addition, promising projects like Pelican, Aigrette, and Comoron offer significant growth prospects. With 47 exploration wells drilled and extensive seismic data, Mauritania is on the brink of a new energy era.
SMH remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing strategic projects, particularly in gas development, and building robust partnerships to maximize Mauritania’s energy potential, contributing to sustainable economic and energy development for the nation.
