On Tuesday, 4 August 2026, Dr Mohamed Lemine Ould Raghani, Chief Executive of the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Corporation (SMH), met with a Kosmos Energy delegation at SMH headquarters.
The delegation was led by William Tuttle, Senior Vice President, External Affairs, and also included Todd Niebruegge, Senior Vice President and Head of the Mauritania–Senegal Business Unit, and Ismail Sid Ahmed, Vice President and Country Manager for Mauritania.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress on key matters relating to the development of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas project and to discuss prospects for strengthening cooperation between SMH and Kosmos Energy.
Discussions focused in particular on measures that could accelerate the implementation of the project’s various phases, improve its performance, optimise value creation and maximise its economic benefits for Mauritania and all stakeholders.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close and constructive cooperation to ensure the sustainable development and success of the GTA project, which is of strategic importance to Mauritania and the wider region.
