As a member of the International Gas Union (IGU), SMH took part in the IGU Council Meeting held in Cairo, Egypt, from October 14 to 18, 2024.
During this event, SMH’s General Director, Ismail Abdel Vetah, was represented by Technical Advisor Mohamed Lemine Mohamed Bowba.
The IGU, a global non-profit organization founded in 1931, is headquartered in Switzerland with its Secretariat based in London, UK. It represents more than 140 members across over 80 countries, covering approximately 90% of the global gas market. The IGU’s scope spans the entire gas value chain, including natural gas and renewable gases such as hydrogen and bio-methane.
This year’s council meeting was a milestone event, marked by the election of Mr. Khaled AbuBakr as IGU President for the 2028–2031 triennium.
