The Chief Executive of the Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures (SMH), Dr. Mohamed Lemine Raghani, received a delegation from BP, operator of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, on July 14, 2026. The delegation was led by Mr. Dave Campbell, Senior Vice President, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Limam, Vice President of BP Mauritania Investments Limited (BPMIL), and Mr. Lance D’Souza, Business Advisor to the Senior Vice President for Mauritania and Senegal.
This meeting falls within the framework of regular consultations between the Joint Venture partners of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project.
On this occasion, the Director General of SMH, alongside his key associates, held a working session with the BP delegation.
The highly constructive discussions provided an opportunity to review the main issues regarding the development and operation of the GTA gas field. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to pursuing close cooperation based on dialogue, mutual trust, and the search for collaborative solutions. This aims to contribute to the lasting success of the project and optimize its benefits for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and all stakeholders.
