The Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures (SMH) took part in the working visit carried out in Algeria on 15–16 February 2026 by H.E. Mr Mohamed Ould Khaled, Minister of Energy and Petroleum.
In Algiers, a meeting notably brought together the Director General of SMH, Dr Mohamed Lemine Raghani, and the CEO of Sonatrach, Noureddine Daoudi.
Discussions focused on accelerating the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding covering the full hydrocarbons value chain: upstream (exploration and production), downstream (petroleum and petrochemical products, including nitrogen fertilizers), as well as training. On this occasion, the Director General of SMH reaffirmed to his Sonatrach counterparts the firm commitment of the Mauritanian side to deliver on these cooperation areas, within a framework of sustainable partnership based on expertise sharing, skills transfer, and the development of mutually beneficial projects for both brotherly countries.
